The tour begins at Campo Imperatore, in the Abruzzo region.
Our walk starts with a visit to the eagle’s nest shelter and continues along the high plateau, a spectacular location surrounded by the mountains of the famous Italian Gran Sasso. The tour continues on to Santo Stefano di Sessanio. We will stop for lunch at “Ristoro Mucciante”, where you can sample their famous barbecued beef on a stick called “arrosticini“, a local, delicious specialty.
This Ristoro is an ex movie location which was used by many famous Italian movie directors. Sergio Leone shot several of his famous westerns here!
We will continue our tour in the afternoon by visiting other interesting Medieval sites in the area such as Rocca di Calascio, Castelvecchio, Calvisio or Castel del Monte.
